Dr. Antoniou completed a fellowship in
adult reconstruction with an emphasis on revision surgery at Central Dupage Hospital
and the Rush-Presbyterian-St.Lukes Medical center in Chicago with Drs. Paprosky,
Rosenberg, and Galante. I have also completed a fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow
Surgery at the University of Washington with Frederick Matsen and Douglas Harryman.
Finally,
He then went on to complete round-out shoulder experience by performing a three
month fellowship with Dr. Iannotti at the University of Pennsylvania. He is trained
in the evaluation and management of the entire gamut of shoulder, elbow and adult
reconstruction (hip and knee) problems.
Dr. Antoniou's background includes post-graduate level research in biochemistry
and molecular biology of the musculoskeletal system, experience in teaching,
and research in both the basic science and clinical areas of medicine. More recently,
he has become involved in patient self-assessment of disease and outcome analysis
using a wide range of computer aided methodologies.
His research has been acclaimed by local and national awards and he has obtained
national and international grants. He is currently an Assistant Professor at
McGill Univeristy in the division of orthopaedic surgery and is based out of
the Jewish General Hospital with cross appointments at the Montreal General hospital
and the Royal Vistoria Hospital. Currently Dr. Antoniou is conducting research
at the orthopaedic research lab at the Royal Victoria Hospital and at the Lady
Davies Institute.
